I too am a scanner, choosing then now cooler term of "portfolio careerist" but never have I had the feeling of missing out on anything. Far from it. I read all of Barbara's books and now I'm reading "It's Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now" as I took up another new career as I entered my 50's. I hit plateaus in learning in an industry and then I move onto something else that excites me. Rarely am I unhappy but I do have tons of ideas. That's probably why I've been a writer all my life. It allows for that outlet to complete work. Being a scanner is a gift. Thanks for writing about it!
